Tawaf Step-by-Step
A simple, calm walkthrough of the seven circuits of Tawaf — where to begin, what to say, and how to maintain focus in the crowd.
Before You Begin
Make wudu. Tawaf is performed in a state of purity.
The Seven Circuits
- Begin at the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) corner. Raise your hand and say "Bismillah, Allahu Akbar."
- Keep the Kaaba on your left and walk anticlockwise.
- There is no fixed du'a for each circuit — speak to Allah from your heart in any language you understand.
- At the Yemeni Corner, recite "Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanatan..."
- Complete seven full circuits ending at the Black Stone corner.
After Tawaf
Pray two short rak'ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim if possible, then drink Zamzam.
