Question 1

Which countries are eligible to perform Umrah using a Saudi tourist visa?

Accepted Answer

Citizens from many countries can perform Umrah using the Saudi tourist eVisa, without applying for a separate Umrah visa. The eVisa is valid for one year, allows multiple entries, and permits a stay of up to 90 days per visit. Eligible regions include Europe (Schengen): Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden and others; North America: United States, Canada; Asia-Pacific: Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei; and other regions such as the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Russia and China (including Hong Kong and Macau). Travellers from non-eligible countries may still qualify if they hold a valid and previously used UK, US or Schengen visa. Visa policies are subject to change, so please verify the latest requirements before applying — or contact Umrah Express for expert assistance.

Question 2

Which countries require a traditional Umrah visa, and how can travellers from these countries apply?

Accepted Answer

Citizens of countries not eligible for the Saudi tourist eVisa must apply for a traditional Umrah visa, which typically allows a single entry with a stay of up to 90 days. Travellers must apply through an approved service provider or Umrah travel agent such as Umrah Express. The process generally involves submitting a valid passport, recent photographs, proof of travel arrangements and other supporting documents as per Saudi embassy requirements. Contact Umrah Express for step-by-step guidance based on your nationality.

Question 3

Is it possible to extend an Umrah visa or tourist visa while in Saudi Arabia?

Accepted Answer

No. Neither a traditional Umrah visa nor a tourist visa can be extended inside the Kingdom. The Umrah visa typically allows a single entry with a maximum stay of 90 days, and the tourist visa allows multiple entries with up to 90 days per visit but cannot be extended beyond that. Travellers must exit before the visa expires — overstaying can result in penalties or future visa restrictions.

Question 4

Is a visa required for children or infants travelling for Umrah?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All travellers, including infants and children, must have a valid visa to enter Saudi Arabia for Umrah. Parents or guardians should prepare all documentation in advance to avoid delays.

Question 5

Can women travel for Umrah alone on a tourist or Umrah visa?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Under current Saudi regulations women can travel for Umrah without a mahram, subject to conditions: women aged 18 or above may apply for an Umrah or tourist visa independently, they must have valid documentation and confirmed travel/accommodation bookings, and women under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent.

Question 6

What is the processing time for an Umrah visa?

Accepted Answer

Tourist eVisa: usually processed within 24 to 72 hours, often faster if documents are complete. Traditional Umrah visa: typically 3 to 5 working days, depending on embassy workload and documentation accuracy. Umrah Express assists at every stage — from document collection to submission and follow-up — to ensure timely processing.

Question 7

Does the Saudi visa fee include health insurance coverage?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The visa fee for both tourist and Umrah visas typically includes mandatory health insurance arranged by Saudi authorities, providing basic medical cover during your stay. It may cover emergency medical treatment, accidents and injuries, COVID-19-related medical expenses and repatriation in case of death. Coverage limits vary, so additional private travel insurance is recommended.

Question 8

Can I use my tourist visa for tourism and Umrah on the same trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A valid Saudi tourist visa allows entry into Makkah and Madinah for Umrah, travel across other parts of Saudi Arabia including Riyadh, Jeddah and AlUla, and a stay of up to 90 days per visit with multiple entries during the visa's one-year validity — convenient for combining your spiritual journey with sightseeing.

Question 9

What happens if my Umrah visa application is rejected?

Accepted Answer

In rare cases of rejection you will typically receive a reason, such as incomplete documentation, passport issues or ineligibility based on nationality. Umrah Express will review the application and identify the issue, advise on corrections, reapply on your behalf if eligible, and guide you on alternative routes such as the tourist visa pathway. Rejections are uncommon when applications are properly prepared. Please note that in the event of a visa rejection, the fee is non-refundable.

Question 10

Can I perform Umrah anytime during the year?

Accepted Answer

Umrah visas are available for most of the year, but are temporarily suspended during the Hajj season. The suspension usually starts a few weeks before Hajj and continues until after the pilgrimage, with exact dates announced by Saudi authorities each year. Check with Umrah Express before booking to confirm visa availability.

Question 11

Question 16
