Sa'i Between Safa and Marwa

The Story Behind Sa'i
Sa'i commemorates Hajar (AS) running between the hills of Safa and Marwa searching for water for her son Isma'il. Every step is a tribute to her trust in Allah.
How to Perform Sa'i
- Begin at Safa, facing the Kaaba. Recite the verse "Inna as-Safa wal-Marwata min sha'a'irillah."
- Walk to Marwa. One trip = Safa to Marwa OR Marwa to Safa.
- Complete seven trips, ending at Marwa.
- Men jog lightly between the green markers; women walk normally.
There is no obligation to be in wudu, though it is preferred.
