Common Mistakes Pilgrims Make — and How to Avoid Them
Small errors that pilgrims often make in Ihram, Tawaf and Sa'i, with practical reminders to keep your Umrah smooth and accepted.
Mistake 1: Rushing Ihram
Many pilgrims try to enter Ihram on the plane in a panic. Prepare at home and on the ground before departure.
Mistake 2: Pushing Toward the Black Stone
Kissing the Black Stone is a Sunnah, not an obligation. Do not harm yourself or others — pointing from a distance is sufficient.
Mistake 3: Loud Group Du'as
Tawaf is a personal conversation with Allah. Avoid reading from a script in unison if it distracts you or others.
Mistake 4: Forgetting Madinah
Visiting Masjid an-Nabawi is not part of Umrah, but it is a deeply rewarding experience that should not be missed.
